about the project

In the heart of the untouched landscapes of Devon, in southern England, I had the privilege of filming the official music video for “We Belong to Life” with the incredibly talented artist and dear friend, Ayla Schafer. As a filmmaker and photographer, this project was a truly special experience for me — a beautiful example of the deep connection between nature, music, and spiritual expression.

A Place of Magic: The Enchantment of Bluebells

The location was like stepping into a fairy tale — a woodland carpeted with the famous Bluebells, painting the forest floor in a soft, mystical blue. These flowers bloom for just a short period in the spring, casting the forests of England into a dreamlike light. Bluebells are steeped in folklore and are often seen as fairy bells, believed to open the doorways to other realms. They carry a unique energy that symbolizes connection, magic, and spiritual awakening — perfectly in tune with the essence of Ayla Schafer’s music, which so often reflects a deep bond with nature and the spiritual world.

A Long-Held Dream Comes to Life

For years, Ayla and I had dreamed of creating a music video amidst this enchanting bloom. But with Bluebells only flowering for a few weeks in May, the timing had to be just right. Finally, in 2024, we made it happen. The conditions were perfect, and the stunning scenery became an essential part of the creative process. The timing, the place, and the energy were aligned in a way that felt truly special.

Inspiration for Spiritual Musicians and Retreat Centers

As a filmmaker and photographer, I am passionate about creating projects that are authentic and heartfelt. Working with artists like Ayla Schafer is always a deeply personal and spiritual journey that goes far beyond simply capturing images. For musicians, retreat organizers, or spiritual centers, there’s an incredible opportunity to communicate their message in a visual form that resonates deeply with the soul.

This project is a reminder of how crucial it is to find the right moment and the right setting to create something truly magical—whether it’s for a music video, a documentary, or an event. The connection to nature, as we experienced in Devon, is what makes these moments so unique and powerful.

Trust and Excitement for Future Projects

My work is driven by a deep desire to visually express the spiritual essence and natural beauty that speaks to so many alternative and spiritual musicians, artists, and retreat organizers. Projects like this music video with Ayla are especially close to my heart because they carry a meaningful, sustainable message—stories that inspire and uplift.

If my work resonates with you, feel free to reach out. I’m always excited to connect and explore new ideas.
Warmest wishes,
Benja
